Johann Sebastian Bach: Cantata Süßer Trost, mein Jesus kömmt BWV 151 – Netherlands Bach Society, Jos van Veldhoven, Maria Keohane, Alex Potter, Charles Daniels, Matthias Winckhler

The Christmas cantata ‘Süßer Trost, mein Jesus kömmt’, performed by the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach, revolves around amazement and humility. In one of the most beautiful arias ever written by Bach, the soprano expresses wonder at the fragile child in the crib. It opens with a lullaby, accompanied by a flute supported by oboe d’amore and strings. Recorded for the project All of Bach on December 17th 2015 at the Grote Kerk, Naarden.
