I’ll hide me from the sight of Day, And sigh, and sigh my Soul away. He’s gone, he’s gone, his loss deplore; And I shall never see him more.

This recording of The Fairy Queen was made subsequent to the performance of the work at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, on 21 November 1993, as part of The South Bank Centre’s ‘Purcell Experience’.
