The 111th Proms season sails triumphantly off into the sunset as Walton, Lambert and Korngold complete the nautical theme for this year’s Last Night celebrations. Sir Henry Wood’s Sea-Songs are performed, in their centenary year, with their original bugle calls restored; illustrious counter-tenor Andreas Scholl sings Handel and Purcell, and John Williams performs Rodrigo’s celebrated concerto. During the interval, a taste of the Proms in the Park festivities around the country.
